Very much an improved version of it's parent 'Black Eyed Susan' only taller [shows very well in the border] and with an even bolder eye. Blooms for weeks here with upright foliage and stems so ideal for the centre of a border.
Plant 20-24" apart or grow in 6 litre containers,.

Season of flowering -
Early usually starts mid-late June.
Mid Season is late June with main flowering through July.
Late season is late July and into August.
Please note flowering period can be affected by positioning and seasonality factors. By selecting varieties with different flowering periods you will get the longest period of bloom.

Bloom size - The bloom size is measured across the face of the bloom when open flat. It can vary a little according to age of the plant, etc.
Height - 32"
Height - This is an approximate height of the flower stems. The foliage is usually lower.
Foliage type - Dormant
Foliage type -
Dormant means the leaves dies down completely in the winter.
Semi Evergreen varieties maintain some foliage over-winter.
Evergreen varieties may maintain all foliage over the winter. The foliage state can be influenced by the severity or otherwise of the winter period.
It is often said that dormant varieties are the absolute hardiest but all offered varieties have been extensively trialled here and all are hardy.
Ploidy - Tetraploid
Ploidy - In layman's terms ploidy is the number of chromosomes a variety has. Older varieties are nearly all diploids but modern day breeding techniques resulted in improved tetraploid varieties with three chromosomes. It is difficult to distinguish between them in general plant appearance, although diploids do have ever so slightly narrower foliage. As far as the blooms are concerned tetraploids have flowers with thicker, heavier substance and fuller form and are the very pinnacle of perfection and grandeur. Diploids are not so heavily textured and can be more graceful in appearance. They also tend to open earlier in the day even when it is colder. Diploids will usually grow and increase more quickly.

Bonanza
Bonanza is inarguably one of the most famous and popular varieties ever raised. Despite being superseded by any number of modern day varieties it continues to be frequently planted in gardens today. The flowering season is relatively brief but undeniably showy with each golden yellow flower finished by a prominent wine red eye. Multiplies quickly; bone-hardy. Recipient of the AHS Stout Medal, the highest award given to a Daylily. The flowers are produced en masses producing a glorious effect and are a rich gold complemented by a big and bold current red eye. Does produce re-bloom and a standout performer in the garden.

A very tidy clump with good foliage, looks just as satisfying in a planter or open border alike. Stocky stems bear wide eyed orange and red bi-colour flowers to dazzling effect. A variety with lots of character and flower-power. From one of America's foremost Daylily hybridizers. Often shows re-bloom scapes later in the season.

Chicago Sunrise
Deep yellow with a darker yolk-yellow centre. Really shines in the border and has good rain repellent substance. A variety that has stood the test of time; still popular and a good landscaper. In the mixed border this Daylily associates well with a froth of greenish yellow Alchemilla mollis and Heuchera Lime Ricky as foreground companions. Behind any of the Heleniums would work well but 'Kanaria' is particularly good with it's slightly taller habit. Planting distance: This Hemerocallis should be planted 18" apart in clumps or allow 24" individually. Suitable for containers of around 6 litre capacity using a loam based compost for preference.
