A bygone variety that does not deserve obscurity bearing a generous display of soft apricot fragrant flowers which reflex slightly in the sunshine. As hardy and durable as one would expect and an excellent general purpose border variety with charming colour.
Associates very well in the garden with Heuchera 'Marmalade' Crocosmia George Davidson, Echinacea 'Sundown' as well as blues such as Nepeta fassenii or Nepeta nervosa Kitkat.
Plant 24" apart. For container growing a 5 litre capacity container is sufficient.

Semi Evergreen varieties maintain some foliage over-winter.
Evergreen varieties may maintain all foliage over the winter. The foliage state can be influenced by the severity or otherwise of the winter period.
It is often said that dormant varieties are the absolute hardiest but all offered varieties have been extensively trialled here and all are hardy.
Ploidy - Diploid
Ploidy - In layman's terms ploidy is the number of chromosomes a variety has. Older varieties are nearly all diploids but modern day breeding techniques resulted in improved tetraploid varieties with three chromosomes. It is difficult to distinguish between them in general plant appearance, although diploids do have ever so slightly narrower foliage. As far as the blooms are concerned tetraploids have flowers with thicker, heavier substance and fuller form and are the very pinnacle of perfection and grandeur. Diploids are not so heavily textured and can be more graceful in appearance. They also tend to open earlier in the day even when it is colder. Diploids will usually grow and increase more quickly.

Reliability beyond question, effective amongst shrub roses, companion plants include shorter Campanulas, Dianthus, hardy Geraniums [especially Russell Pichard] and border Phlox.

Margaret Perry Daylily (Hemerocallis)
A very old heritage heirloom that has stood the test of time and still shows well in the centre of an island bed or towards the rear of the order with it’s taller stems and massed display of flower. Effective marigold orange with paler stripy midribs ad bright yellow throat. Virtually indestructible.

Pink Damask Daylily (Hemerocallis)
Although long since superseded in the colour range this is one of the all-time most famous and oft-panted of all varieties and remains a worthwhile border and landscaping Daylily producing a brief but very floriferous show together with cast-iron dependability making it useful also for more "difficult" areas. The graceful lily-form flowers are deep pink and produced en-masse on an established clump. Clumps quickly; numerous planting associations are possible with Pink Damask. My favourite is to team with the ruddy pink of Echinacea purpurea and Lavenders such as "Hidote" or the darker flowered "Munstead".
